ShLanda Burton

ShLanda Burton is a birth doula, reproductive justice advocate, and executive director of the National Birth Coalition. Her background in both doula care and advanced degrees in nutrition make her uniquely qualified to speak to the causes and implications of maternal healthcare disparities. Her mission is to empower and advocate for the most effective, evidenced-based, culturally competent policies that improve outcomes for parents and babies. She believes education and knowledge is the key to a way forward through the crisis: “if you don’t know your options, if you don’t understand your options, then you don’t have any.”
